Wood Shop Project help?
I have to make a jewelry box for a project, the wood shop are 2 pieces of 24 "by 3" wood I was thinking about taking a book and cut a square in it and placing a wooden box I made in the square, so it will be like a jewel hidden in a secret book, but it will be very difficult to reduce than 700 pages, this idea is you have ideas of what jewelry box design to build or know how I should cut all 700 pages together? I only have a week to work on this project
It is easy to dig a book. You remove the cover if you have all the pages you want to cut (keeping a 30 or 40 pages, with each cover). You flatten the pages you want to cut, all aligned and everything and maintain clamps (you can use C-clamps, with two strips of wood to extend the pressure). After taking an exacto knife or razor blade and start cutting. The initial slight, some pages at once. Use cutting pages as a guide for resting against the knife to cut the following pages. You can cut the pages 10-20 in one Giving you time. The only alternative is to make a wooden box. Something simple but elegant, with dovetails, or knuckles would be cool. Make a lid that fits over a rabbit on all four sides so it fits in the box. Mancha and end-grain joints of the fingers or dovetail will be darker and provide "visual interest".
