What job should I choose?
I am 13 in grade 9. I am trying to figure out what job I would like, so I have a rough idea of what subjects I should take in year 10. I am thinking about being a counselor for children & help them though there problems. At the moment I am also interested in things like anorexia & depression. I was wondering what kind of jobs I could do & where would I learn how to do them? How long would it take to learn? What the job would involve? If you could tell me the average pay and hours would be great. Also what to take next year. At my school we have things like drama, art, music, Japanese, Business Technology (i am doing that at the moment & drama & art). Wood and metal work and next year we get to chose if we want to do science & s.o.s.e. thank you for you help & I am sorry my question is so long.
If they have any classes in psychology, it sounds like that’s what you are looking for. Beyond that, just take things that you think are interesting or that you think will help you later. At this point, it doesn’t really matter much what your specific classes are. And, your question is great. All the stuff you’re asking is important. I don’t actually know much about the fields you mentioned. Try asking someone at your school (teacher, counselor, whoever) if they know anyone who works in the fields you are interested in. Then you can talk to them and find out more.
