How much extra wood must I order for a tongue-n-grooving 250 sft wall?
What is the rule of thumb when working on a siding project like this? To cover it exactly I need 60 boards of 1×6x10…but I know I need more since I will be cutting the wood to work around the windows and such…so how much extra do I need? Should I order 25% or 50 % more panels of what is needed than the real square footage (total – windows)?
First measure the wall with out any openings, in other words a flat wall. then measure all openings and subtract the openings total from the total wall, then add 10% for scrap. and you got it.
