These plans can also be helpful in knowing what material is needed in different wood products.
Well, depending on where you get it or from what your source is, these could actually be very informative to both amateur and professional woodworkers. There are also a lot of sites with groups or community forums where you can get real-life stories and tips from other people.
But what exactly do you get from these free plans?
Well, obviously, this is a step-by-step tutorial on how to build wood products. Now, the good news is I have taken the time to give you the Top Three most used wood plans: bookshelf, chairs and jewelry box. I don’t have the details here but I have enough information for you to determine whether or not it’s the plan for you.
Cherry Bookshelf Plan
In building this type of bookshelf, you would need 13 pieces of cherry wood that are screwed together. The shaping and joinery is done with the help of drill press and a table saw.
Building such shelf also requires that you use screws, screw hole plugs, shelves and slates.
Now, cherry is the most common used wood because it is very light. But you could use other types like white oak too.
Chair Plans
Now, for this particular article, these tips are only applicable to drop down chairs. It is a high-backed with neither wedges or pegs.
All you need is plywood and some obvious materials and you are good to go. It really is one of the easiest ones to make.
Jewelry Box Plans
Now, as an experienced wood worker, I can tell you that this is perhaps the easiest and fastest woodwork to make! It can actually pass for a great last-minute gift that looks very well-made and carefully thought of.
If you have some small wooden box lying around your house, you can use it! Just add some screws, carve a little flower or whatever in the top and voila! You now have yourself an elegant, classy and very nice jewelry box.

A Place of My Own: The Education of an Amateur Builder $16.00 Michael Pollan’s A Place of My Own might be suspiciously viewed by some readers as a text begging for interpretation.
