What are some good color schemes for an open floor plan with lots of natural wood trim?

My upstairs has an open floor plan with a living room/ dining room/kitchen all connected together. It also leads into a hallway with many rooms, and I just wanted to see what ideas I could get for good colors that will work well with the wood trim running throughout the entire house. The house is boring right now with white walls and white carpet and I just wanted to try and add some color into it. Any ideas are accepted. Thanks so much!!!!

The idea of an open floor plan is to give the appearance of spaciousness. In order to keep that open look the colors need to be light. Any light color will do but it depends on the atmosphere you’re trying to create. To give warmth to the space use warm colors like yellows, reds, oranges, to make it cool and airy use greens or blues. To bring the space closer together (give the appearance of less the space) use dark colors like eggplant or a deep rich blue. Neutral colors will give it a more outdoor feel.
