How to clarify a species of wood?
I have installed three wooden worktops in my kitchen.
The supplier sold them as ‘african walnut’. However, there are clearly two different coloured woods.
How can I correctly establish the species of wood?
(The worktops are staved so there is colour variation between staves but the overall colour of one is a deep brown whilst the other two are golden. The supplier is being defensive and unhelpful).
It is not too late if the product is mis-sold i.e. labelled and provided as African Walnut but actually another species.
Too late now after it’s installed.
You should have ordered matched pieces or viewed the timber before it was polished and cut to fit.
