WOOD WORK SURFACES

Why use wood when you can have an office of Lego?

I still use a database table from my computer, so I guess officially my office table. I think it's great, is a gray box, 1950, laminated, with rounded ends. Most people I know have modern offices particle board or pressed, some have offices in metal or metal with glass top, and some have a solid wood desk, therefore, therefore a variety from there in search of the perfect office. But one of the most unusual counters I've found is a branch of LEGO.

About 10 years ago, a commercial hired a man who wanted an office of LEGO and the company wanted to bad enough for the mainstream with his contract. Why did a desk LEGO? Perhaps to play during your holiday. Although I read that in his previous job, coworkers give you a bad time of your inbox is always full by what they said was a desk of LEGO, while it could create more inbox. Maybe it was just a lover of LEGO children, or made a comment Once a joke that a LEGO office and then the idea has not, I dunno, but just where do you get LEGO office?

Fortunately, there are people taking the old adage of "doing something you love" seriously. the company took 7 months to find, but eventually were taken to a man named Eric Harshbarger who built LEGO projects to the Commission as a part-time job. He has been contacted by the office and agreed to take on the project.

Now we know how much you paid for this project, and as I tell my children, is that none of our business, but we know that $ 2,000 was paid in advance only to pay LEGO piecess. Either who has a child who loves LEGO is not surprised by that price, the construction of small furniture are not cheap! But also last forever, and rightly so.

Now, if you bought before you come in basic LEGO boxes. Eric used almost every part of the 32 Blue Tubs, 300 motherboards small (size 8×16 studs), and 63 blue plate packs. Some pieces were bought from private collectors a specialty drawer slide.

Once the basic design was established on the desktop it took only a few weeks to build. But once the company has approved the office, Eric was then paste all the pieces. This meant a reversal of the main table below, the dismantling of the piece by piece, desk down while hitting parts and assemble all promotion. Once completed, the office was sent to Seattle, which cost about another $ 800.

Basic Facts About the Office LEGO:

  • About 35,000 LEGO bricks have been used.
  • The table weighs about 125 pounds.
  • Approximately 7 kg of cement were used.
  • The counter is 60 "wide x 29.5" H x 30 "deep.
  • There are 7 working drawers (six small, one drawer large file).
  • There is a small folding cover on top that conceals a hole for computer cables to pass through.
  • The basic color of the office are blue, yellow, red, green, black and white, grouped in a pleasant manner and pattern.

Now, a question had is whether the top is bumpy or smooth. The smooth surface is generally preferred to work, but that the rate he wanted his office to the left with the bumps Lego. I guess that allow you to build your own inbox, or anything else that may have time to rest entirely!
